After being mesmerized by all the jewelry in the trailers for the Great Gatsby I set out to find a few of my favorite pieces, only to be led straight to Tiffany’s.

I was head over heels in love with the unique art deco style wedding ring worn by Daisy in the film. Almost no jewelry companies make rings like that anymore, and I was sure it had to be an antique. When I found out it was also from Tiffany’s I was very pleasantly surprised.

Nina Chakrabarti is an amazing London based artist. Her line work drawings are so beautiful and intricate, every time I see her Voodoo Queens series she produced for I Want You magazine I cant wait for the next costume party I attend where I can attempt to put a spin on her fashion face art and go as one of her works.

The thing that attracts me the most to this particular series is how I connect with it. Whenever I get a new magazine in the mail and become bored by it lying around I almost always end up drawing on the cover model’s face. I however usually end up giving them a black tooth, pointed fairy ears, a unibrow… It wasn’t until I discovered Nina that I realized how it could become art.
